BIRDWATCHING TOUR IN COSTANERA SUR NATURE RESERVE (BUENOS AIRES)

The Costanera Sur Nature Reserve is located on the Rio de la Plata (River Plate) , in the eastern side of the city of Buenos Aires. A few blocks away from the heart of the city. This reserve offers a unique opportunity to come into contact with wildlife.
A great variety of trees, grasses and shrubs, typical of the Pampas and the coast of the River Plate can be apreciated from the the trails. Grasslands, reedmace and rushes act as a backdrop for lagoons with a highly varied fauna.
Bird species typical of the Pampas weatlands prevail, including Coscoroba and Black-necked Swans, White-tufted Grebe, three species of coot, several herons and a good variety of ducks. Some passerines typical of the marshes and grasslands include Rofous Homero, Spectacled Tyrant, Chalk-browed Mockingbird, Great Pampa-finch, Black-and-Rofous Warbling-Finch, Masked Gnatcatcher and Yellow-winged Blackbird. It is usual to find seventy species of birds in a visit. Total number of kilometers for this day: 4
Other wildlfe present here includes Coypu (Nutria), Pampas Cavy, Hillary’s Sidenecked Turtle and Black Tegu Lizard.
